Sun, January 30, 2005 - 2:59 PMya, trust me, don't go to siggraph for 2 or 3 years, and you loose contact with almost everything in the industry.

Re: Down with Siggraph a must
Mon, February 7, 2005 - 3:57 PMi dunno... i've never been to siggraph and i feel like i'm doing quite well along my path.
just keep in good relations with your peers, pro forums, the software developers, and Support people.
...and most of all never stop animating or studying life.
Back when i was doing 2D animation i asked one of the leads what things i could focus on to draw and animate better.
He replied that everyone has about 50,000 bad animations in them... so start getting rid of them now and you might get lucky along the way.
~i still wouldn't mind checking out siggraph though~ heh... -

Re: Down with Siggraph a must
Mon, March 28, 2005 - 1:33 AMYou should check it out man.
When I went Ken Perlin was flaunting his new stuff. The company vanished and Alias came up with a new tool that was strikingly similar. Had I gotten a copy of the Beta version, it would be able to work with both Maya and 3D Studio MAx.
This is just some of the Perks. I screwed up cause I thought the company would be around forever.
