Should this group be public, moderated or private? I'm open to any... I originally created it as a public forum for people to be able to all discuss Pixar and things related to Pixar, but Gabe had a legit concern that people could use it to track down Pixar employees... does Tribes adequately protect email addresses of its users? Are these Tribe identities being related to Pixar individuals something that we want to keep hidden from the general public? I'm happy to go private, but I want to get input from others. I would say that I would prefer to keep it public so-as to increase the traffic and get more public discussions here, but if people feel that their privacy is at risk then I have absolutely no problem making it private, which I've currently done until this topic is resolved.

Re: Public or Private?
Thu, October 2, 2003 - 7:36 PMOk, since no one's posting here, I'm gonna open the group up again. PLEASE let me know if this becomes a problem for anyone. :) -

Re: Public or Private?
Wed, October 15, 2003 - 10:14 AMSo, I'm going to leave the Pixar tribe open for now. If you're worried about someone looking to see who's a Pixar employee by looking at the tribe then it might be better not to state that you work for Pixar in your profile, or to not have any info that could lead someone to you like a phone number or email address.
If this becomes a problem for anyone at any time please let me know ASAP so I can make necessary adjustments.
Thanks!
Cory. -

Re: Public or Private?
Tue, November 25, 2003 - 12:52 PMWell- thanks for keeping it open- I am a resource manager for a large communications company and I attended a meeting at pixar last month. I was amazed at the quality and creativity. Love to exchange ideas and resources.
I always am looking for motion graphics people for freelance work. Also if you guys need any resources with -Event staging, a/v, graphics, video I am happy to share.
I also have 2 friends that work at pixar and they enjoy it there. (maybe complain a bit about the pay- and long hours-hee hee)
I also run a tribe called Lovecat resources. -

Re: Public or Private?
Mon, April 26, 2004 - 1:17 AMI say keep it open. Though i can see your concern if people take this too far and start stalking employees or something (Like the guy outside the sudio last month, jackass), but seriously, have a little class and personal respect for everyone on the site whether they work for Pixar or not.
