Hi-
I went to a "lecture" tghe other night at Pixar. Really cool place - I also took a walk around and saw all the art from nemo. AMazing stuff.
One thing was interesting was next to a pool table were pictures of pixar employees. Kind of a cool idea.
Is that alwasy there and do they take people off as they leave etc. At my old company one guy had a whole staff pic from 4 years ago and he enjoyed black X ing the folks taht left.
Any story behind this wall of pictures>?

Re: Picture wall at Pixar
Mon, December 1, 2003 - 1:20 PMas far as I know the idea behind the wall of pictures is simply to create a sense of community. I think I heard that it is supposed to be like a refridgerator in a family kitchen. -

Re: Picture wall at Pixar
Mon, December 22, 2003 - 11:29 AMOriginally, the wall of pictures was set up in Bugville (one of our buildings at the old complex) with each employee's picture organized in order from left-to-right by employee start-date. The wall would be reorganized as employees left. After a while Pixar simply became too big to continue reorganozing the wall, so now it's just pictures randomly placed everywhere.
